A public house in the Jewellery Quarter, dating back to 1820. It was formerly called The George & Dragon. After a restoration in 2016, it was renamed to The Pig & Tail. It is a Grade II listed building.

The Pig & Tail - history
The Pig & Tail was formerly called the George and Dragon.
It dates back to circa 1820.
The pub was rebuilt between 1860 and 1870.
It includes a 20th century extension by James and Lister Lea, noted Birmingham pub architects (around 1922).
It was a Mitchells & Butlers pub.
It inspired the novels of the late Kathleen Dayus.
The pub has been a Grade II listed building since 1982.

After years of dereliction, it was refurbished into a craft beer bar and restaurant.
It was restored in 2016.

While the pub is now The Pig & Tail, there is still signs saying George and Dragon, such as on Carver Street.

The Birmingham Civic Society awarded The Pig & Tail the 2016 Renaisance Award (a green plaque) for the successful restoration of the Pig & Tail public house (formerly George & Dragon).
